This was new. This was fresh. This was what he needed. As he got out from the cab, he paid the man before standing outside the restaurant, looking sharp in his red button down and black slacks. His hair had been gelled up and he hoped he could even hold a candle to how she looked.

Tonight wasn't like any other night.

Eva rounded the corner humming happily to herself - makeup done in a classy yet stylish look with her hair slightly pinned back. She wore a simple white sundress with matching sandals and a large grin on her face. Once she saw Ford she scurried over to him and threw her arms around him in a hug.

"Hey, Ford!"

Kissing in the rain? Très romantique.

Ford hadn't spoken to his friends in a few days. Other then work and getting set up in Boston he hadn't been up to much. Did he really want to have a no strings relationship? Really? He had been offended and hurt when he realized Jean-Paul had told him no - he even spun it around completely much to the chagrin of both of them.

A break was what he had needed but he was continuing to speak to the same people. He needed variety, he needed - something. After Anna had gave him permission [which, what was that about?] for him to ask her sister to lunch he left her an invitation. He scheduled lunch at Ivy, a restaurant he liked to go to when he had lived in New York. It all seemed so far away, his marriage - Amp, even Jean-Paul...

Pulling on a jacket, he appeared in the mens' room of Ivy, straightening himself out before making his way through the restaurant, to see if Eva had gotten there before him. If not, he'd stand outside like he had just gotten there as well - which he sort of had. He just needed a fresh face, fresh eyes - just...something new. And Eva was sweet and he owed her lunch.

Eva had just arrived at the restaurant in jeans and a dressy pink top, hair curled and pinned back halfway. She looked around and saw Ford, getting on her tiptoes before waving to him. "Ford!" She beamed as she made her way over to him.

Anna woke up slowly in her hospital bed, blinking blearily for a minute at the dim overhead light panel on the ceiling while her mind put the pieces of the last day back together. Breathing hurt a little, and was a little difficult, she noted before lifting her head slightly. It fell back on the pillow as she groaned - bad idea. That hurt too. Plus it made the room spin. She was in a hospital. Don promised she'd be okay. Wait. Don.

She opened her mouth to speak softly, "Don?"

Eva shot up out of her seat, moving to Anna's side, relieved tears in her eyes. "He went out for a second, he'll be right back, promise. Oh god, Anna, you're okay. Thank God. We were so scared..." Eva began to cry and Anna whispered comforting words to Eva, trying to get her hand to move but she was too weak.

Eva had been on her way to the apartment to drop in on her sister - having been worried about her - and she frowned as she poked her head into their apartment. "Anna? Don? Hellooooo?" She stepped inside, looking around for any signs of life.

"You guys left the door open... If you guys are doing the nasty I'm gonna be scarred for life."

My sister is so full of bullshit. Where does she think I learned the value of excuses from? Sure as hell wasn't from mom.
