"You don't see how it is," he said. "You weren't there. You couldn't - we didn't really know each other. I had a lot to get through down there. And the guy I loved, from high school -- I didn't treat him right. I wasn't happy and through all that I had to make sure I saved Amy."
He sighed, leaning against one side of the elevator.
"The minute I did, I returned. No, I wasn't faithful and I apologized for that not that I can't do anything about that -- but I left him there and he drove here, Eva."
What he said next, Ford knew would hurt Eva but also that he may be slapped. Unfortunately, he had no idea how else to explain things.
"He followed. He followed and he told me he didn't want to be without me, that he couldn't be without me. He loves me."
