Fly Me To The Moon - RP for [livejournal.com profile] iheartscience

This was probably one of the craziest things Eva Brooks had ever done. She decided that hey - she deserved a vacation from her thesis on problems in the foster care system and what better way to escape the hectic mess that was her life than by flying out to Smallville, Kansas? Into the farmland and the company of a tall, dark, handsome and amazingly sweet guy. Yeah, this was totally worth the flight.

As the car rolled up on the Kent farm, Eva took a moment to let out a "wow" before paying the driver and getting out, suitcase in hand. She'd drop that at her motel later, right now she was way too excited to go anywhere else. Shifting her suitcase she let it set on the lawn a few feet from the house and went up to knock on the door. Eva knew nothing about horseback riding, so she didn't know how to dress either and as a result ended up in jeans, a pink tank top, and brown sweater over it, feet in brown hightops.

Taking a deep breath she lifted a hand and knocked on the door.

There's another blush, no matter how small, at her kiss, even if it's just a friendly on-the-cheek one, and it takes a few moments for Nik to straighten up and nod.

"Okay. As I said, that big red building is the barn, where we stable our horses, store the hay, and part of it was turned into kind of a loft for Dad when he was a little kid. I've kinda taken it over now. I'll give you a tour there, and then show you mom's garden. Unless you see something else you want to explore?"

Eva smiles fondly as she listens to Nik speak and nods. "That sounds great. So, do you live in the loft on the weekend? Cause it's pretty cold in here and y'know, you'd freeze."

"No, during the school year I have a small apartment in Metropolis. Summers are spent here. I think we've all crashed on the couch in there at one time or another, though." He smiles down at her after a moment. "Let me know when you've recovered from the scare and we'll tour."

"Oh, I recovered around the time you pulled out that impressive fireman's carry. I've stopped swooning though." She smirked. "Well, for the most part." She winked at Nik and began to saunter into the barn to explore.

Eva was a curious and sometimes reckless creature. But her impulsive nature gave her a very lively spirit and hey? It kept her from getting down. She looked around and when she saw the horses she jumped a little. "Holy crap they're huge."

He follows automatically, used to trailing after his sisters to make sure they're alright (nevermind he gets yelled at for it), and reaches a hand out to steady her after the shock.

"General and Buttercup the second are the black and roan over there. The big white fellow is Pegasus." But not the real mythological creature - no wings.

When one of the horses sneezed, she nearly jumped out of her shoes and clung to Nikolas, burying her face in his chest. "Oh my God, it wants to kill me!"It was probably a hilarious sight, the way Eva panicked when the horse sneezed. But in her defense? They didn't have horses in Manhattan. Well, they had the ones in Central Park for buggy rides but... those had muzzle-things on their faces with ropes you could pull on. And most of the time they were too busy chewing on the grass in the Park to notice passersby. They were city horses.

[OOC: Could you start a new thread on this entry? It's going off the page.]
